PartnerHacker Daily #198: The Promise of the Ecosystem

There's no place like partnerships

The most promising ecosystem in SaaS is the partnerships ecosystem.

Why?

The partnerships ecosystem is:

  • The most helpful.
  • The most genuine.
  • The fastest growing.
  • The most challenging.
  • The most intellectually stimulating.

And, above all else, the one that will make the world a better place to be a human.

Not quite sure you could say the same of any other ecosystem.

No shade to the other professions. And don’t worry, we're not trying to beat you if you haven't bought into the partnerships worldview.

We’re trying to help you.

Unlikely book recs

Today's rec is from Stewart Wesley of PartnerPage.

My favorite book on partnerships is: Feeling Good Together by David Burns.

I learned about the book from PartnerPage’s CEO Mario Tarabbia. He recommended it to me and the whole team.

The book taught me many things, but the most important things are tactics for becoming more empathetic.

It taught me two specific tactics that were powerful:

  • thought empathy (what is this person likely thinking about?)
  • feeling empathy (how is this person probably feeling?)

I believe that all good partnerships are based on empathy. Cultivating empathy is hard, but it will allow you to build meaningful relationships with your partners that are based on friendship and deliver real results for both of you.
