What's the measure of a relationship?
Can you measure the trust and influence you've gained?
There are probably some useful proxies, but at the end of the day, not everything in business (or in life) can be measured quantitatively.
And that's OK.
Keep doing the stuff you know is right from a first principles standpoint. The stuff you know is good because it's how you'd want to be treated.
Think about the times when you genuinely impacted someone. The times when you heard true praise from a partner or customer. The thank you notes. The anecdotes and feedback that add a skip to your step. The moments you treasure.
There's real value there, even if you can't put a number on it. Listen to that. Follow it.
Measure what you can, but do more than what you measure.
