PartnerHacker Daily #32: Hooked

I'm hooked

I didn't expect it, but I’m hooked.

Partnerships, ecosystems, and communities are the next play for businesses to scale, and the more I dive in, the more it becomes apparent.

Over time, we moved away from human-centeredness to focus on efficiency as measured by numbers and analytics. Lots of benefit to this approach, but some costs too.

Now, we have the ability to take the best of that system, and implement it into our original human system of connection, community, exchange, and partnerships.

Laying the foundation

In laying a concrete foundation, you can’t use the wrong ingredients, you can’t mix incorrectly, and you definitely can’t lay halfheartedly.

You have to be careful and intentional. This is where community, yet again, becomes your best friend.

People act as soundboards. They tell you when you’re off base, challenge you, help you dig deeper, and spark insights you didn’t know you had.

Recently, I found Greg Sarafin, the Ecosystem Leader at EY, and I cannot get enough of his stuff.

He writes on ecosystems — fundamentals, business models, org integrations, growth opps.

In my opinion, his principal piece is, “What business ecosystem means and why it matters” because you can’t begin thinking about building or leveraging an ecosystem without first understanding what an ecosystem is.

Wisdom of the Day

Who’s a great soundboard?

Let’s add more ears, more minds, and more voices to act as soundboards for this community. Send the PhD to them, and let’s expand the conversation.
