Down to earth
It's easy to get caught up in business stuff.
Branding, internal politicking, leveraging, strategizing, measuring. KPIs, OKRs, LTC, CAC, and the whole lexicon of abbreviations and jargon.
But sometimes the world doles out a few shocks that remind us we are all just people. We want and need human relationships and connectivity.
Business is really just people exchanging time and energy and stuff to help each other out.
Sometimes it's good to be reminded of that.
Ukraine and unlikely platform uses
Unexpected events like the war in Ukraine usually trigger two responses:
- Reflection
- Desire for Action
Reflection reminds us of the value of our relationships and of our humanity.
Desire for action compels us to consider ways our networks and spheres of influence might directly allow us to help.
In the case of Ukraine, people have been using AirBnB to book stays and donate money. This is the kind of thing you can't really predict, but you can lean into.
As your ecosystem grows, opportunities to create connections and benefits well outside of your core business increase. Watch them. Encourage them.
Quote of the Day
"The greatest change in corporate culture - and the way business is being conducted - may be the accelerated growth of relationships based... on partnership."
-- Peter Drucker
